Being safe in whatever you're doing is always important. Hunter safety is especially important since we carry potentially dangerous weapons with us when hunting. Knowing how to use them properly and taking a hunter safety class will dramatically reduce (not eliminate) the chances of any accident from happening. The classes also prepare you if an accident does occur. Make sure to take your hunter safety class. Not just for yourself, but for the well-being of everyone else around you.
Classes start in June 2011! Hunter Education classes will be conducted at the North Tract Education Classroom on the Patuxent Research Refuge on the dates listed below. North Tract is located on Highway 198 near Fort Meade, MD in Anne Arundel County. Address ~ 230 Bald Eagle Drive, Laurel, MD 20724 (enter North Tract by the Baseball Fields off Highway 198).
Each class consists of three days. Students must attend all three days to complete the course and be awarded their certification card.
Just in case we're a little too far away from you to take a MNHA sponsored class, try the listing that Maryland DNR has posted on their website. DNR has information on where you can register to get into a hunter safety class around your area.
