Hunting Permits

PRR Hunting Permits will be "no charge" the 2026-2027 season.  

Permits will be issued on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hunting Control Station.  Please call ahead to make sure someone is at the HCS before you depart.

Due to this temporary fee change, we will not be able to staff the HCS all the time.  The refuge will be open Monday through Saturday as usual, however we will be using a clipboard system.  See the guidelines for details.

Last year, the fee was $100 for adults and $65 for seniors; we humbly ask that you consider making a donation of all or part of that to help us cover the costs of managing the hunting program.   

Every hunter must appear in person to be issued a permit.

Hunters are required to complete the forms below. Save time at the HCS - download, print, and complete these forms and bring them with you. Don't forget your 2026-2027 MD Hunting License (electronic is acceptable).

2026-2027 Season fees:

• Adult Hunting Permit -  No Charge

• Senior Hunting Permit - No Charge

• Junior/Youth Hunting Permit - No Charge

• Optional Adult MNHA Membership - $30  

• Optional Junior MNHA Membership - Free with paying parent or guardian ($30 without paying adult)  

MNHA accepts cash and checks only.  (No electronic or credit card payments are accepted at this time.)

NOTES: 

• You do not need to purchase an MNHA membership to hunt at PRR.  

• You do not need a Maryland State Shooter Qualification to hunt at PRR.  However, we do offer qualification shoots for hunters interested in participating in non-PRR managed hunts that require qualification.  See Weapon Qualifications for more information.
